For those who like to see the History channel on TV, maybe you are aware of “The American Pickers” and “The Australian Pickers” TV-show. Two friends with their van, goes along the country to looking for things that can be restore or become a memorabilia and collectible pieces.
Who knows, I just accidentally became a Scout Picker. It happened on May 30th and 31st, 2016 , when I was told there was debris of Scouts Warehouse at Scout Campsite in Cibubur , East Jakarta, Indonesia. In the ruins of the warehouse, there are a number of Scout memorabilia that have been untreated and neglected, scattered around the floor or still in the old and broken boxes.
With Andi Widjanarko, a friend from the Indonesia Scout Journalist community, we saved a number of objects that can still be saved. Without meaning to, I found myself become a Scout Picker, and with my friend Andi, we become “The Scout Pickers”.
